Urban Purity Wear (Pb4G)
GodPockets introduces
"Pure Before God (a.k.a. Pb4G) "
Urban Purity Wear!!!
Press Release 3/31/2013
Summer - Fall 2013 GodPockets will release our own line of logo branded t-shirts, jewelry, purses and other accessories called "Pure Before God" (also know as Pb4G) that can best be described as "Urban Purity Wear".
What is Urban Purity Wear? And why do we need it?
Despite all of the media attention and social education that has been directed towards the issue of HIV and Aids over the past 20 years or so, HIV/AIDS rates continue to skyrocket in America, and nowhere more so than in our urban communities. Even among people who claim to be "religous" or "spiritual". Obviously, education alone is not working. So maybe its time that our urban faith based communities took a slightly different approach.
Purity themed t-shirts and jewelry such as purity rings or promise rings have existed for some time and have been successful in some communities at using the power of positive peer pressure to encourage teens to make a commitment to refrain from pre-marital sex. But for some reason this movement never seemed to really take root in the more urban communities. So GodPockets will design a line of merchandise that will stylishly speak to and be attractive to those in the urban community.
But Pb4G will not be directed just towards "teens" as most Purity Wear is (True Love Waits, for example), but will speak to EVERYONE who is still SINGLE! Why? Because research (see reference articles below) shows that HIV/AIDS rates are rising fastest amoung those in the their 20's - early 40's. So while most Purity Wear focuses on encouraging purity in teenagers, Pb4G will encourage, inspire and re-enforce abstinence during the ENTIRE season of singleness (no matter how long or to what age that season should last).
Our prayer is that this effort will remind single people of all ages of the seriousness of this issue, and that they will make better, life affecting choices because of it.
"Faithful And Fabulous" TM
